Through Lawyers, Hasto Writes To KPK Leaders About Pretrial Process

The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto through his lawyer sent a letter to the KPK leadership. The contents are said to remind the pretrial process he submitted to the South Jakarta District Court (PN) on Friday, January 10.

Hal ini disampaikan Hasto sebelum menjalani pemeriksaan di Gedung Merah Putih KPK, Kuningan Persada, Jakarta Selatan pada hari ini, Senin, 13 Januari. Dia digarap penyidik sebagai tersangka dugaan suap pengurusan pergantu (PAW) anggota DPR RI dan perintangan penyidikan.

"On this occasion, our legal adviser will also provide a letter to the KPK leadership regarding the pretrial process," Hasto told reporters.

Hasto said the letter asked for the legal process to wait for the pretrial. He called the lawsuit his right as a suspect.

"Whether the letter we convey is related to my examination, it will continue or the KPK leadership takes a policy to follow the entire pretrial process, we leave this matter to the KPK leadership," he said.

"Because we believe that legal mechanisms and procedures will be implemented properly with the principles of presumption of innocence," continued Hasto.

Hasto arrived at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta at around 09.30 WIB. Monitoring at the location, he was seen using a red and white bus accompanied by his attorney, including the Chairman of the PDIP DPP for Legal Reform Ronny B. Talapessy to Maqdir Ismail.

Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.

It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.

In this case, Hasto has been summoned by investigators to be questioned as a suspect on Monday, January 6 yesterday. However, he asked for a postponement because there was a series of PDIP Anniversary events that had already been scheduled.
