DENPASAR - A motor vehicle theft gang (curanmor) specialist NMAX, I Kadek Sukadana and I Kadek Suparsa alias Dek Rio (21) were arrested by police in East Denpasar, Bali.
They have taken action to steal 15 NMAX motorbikes in a number of districts and cities. Suspect Sukadana was shot in the leg for resisting during his arrest.
"For 15 TKPs (where the case was) allegedly 2 months ago (they carried out the action) and we will continue to develop it and do not rule out the possibility of TKP and other suspects," said Denpasar Police Chief, Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, at the East Denpasar Police Headquarters, Friday, April 16th.
The suspects committed the theft of the NMAX motorbike using a T key or fake key.
He revealed that this plot started with a report by the victim named I Gusti Ketut Kardiasa, who at that time parked his motorbike at his boarding house on Jalan Kembang Matahari 1, East Denpasar on Sunday, April 11.
When he woke up, the victim was shocked that his motorbike was taken by a thief. The victim reports to the police.
"They are Yamaha NMAX specialists. Of the 15 TKPs that we are currently developing, there can be even more and those are all types of Yamaha NMAX motorbikes. So they make sure the motorbikes are not locked so that they can easily be locked with the keys they prepare to immediately run the motorbike," he added. Jansen.
This stolen motorbike was then sold via Facebook. The stolen NMAX motorbike was sold for IDR 7.5 million without a STNK.
"Incidentally, from some of the NMAXs they stole, there were motorbike owners who left their vehicle registration. So that the price for the STNK was more expensive, up to Rp. 11 million," explained Kombes Jansen.
The suspect is eyeing the NMAX motorbike because there are so many enthusiasts that it can be sold immediately at a high price.
"NMAX is a lot of people looking for. For example, he (the suspect) took it at 7 am in the afternoon, there were already buyers. So it's fast, especially the price is cheap. Their mode ensures that motorbikes are not locked so they can easily commit theft," said Kombes Jansen.
