Increasing Terror In Papua, Chairman Of The MPR Asks TNI-Police To Take Decisive Action On The KKB

JAKARTA - The chairman of the MPR (People's Consultative Assembly), Bambang Soesatyo, has urged the TNI-Police to take firm action against the armed criminal group (KKB) in Papua. Currently, KKB terror is increasing in Puncak Regency, Papua.

"The TNI-Polri apparatus continues to pursue the KKB. This is necessary immediately so that there are no more cases of shootings that disturb the public, especially residents in Illaga City", said Bamsoet, Friday, April 16.

The Golkar Party politician also asked the TNI-Police to continue to strive to narrow the KKB's space until it was weak to surrender to the Republic of Indonesia so that the conditions and situation in Papua could return to being conducive.

"I ask the apparatus to be able to involve BIN (National Intelligence Agency), given the information BIN has provided, is very much needed in the formulation of steps and strategies for eradicating the KKB movement in Papua", said the former Chairman of House of Representatives.

Bamsoet reminded the TNI-Police to increase vigilance, guard, and security in every vital object in Papua, including the population. This step is to provide a sense of security for the surrounding community as well as to anticipate the occurrence of terror attacks carried out by the KKB.

"I appeal to all people in Ilaga City, Papua to limit their activities and not leave the city to anticipate things that are not desirable", said Bamsoet.

Previously, the Armed Criminal Group allegedly again shot a civilian who was a high school student in the Uloni Village area, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Papua on Thursday, April 15. After shooting dead a motorcycle taxi driver in Eromaga Village, Omukia District, Wednesday, April 14.

KKB also carried out arson and shootings in Julukoma Village which resulted in the death of two teachers.

Last week, Thursday, April 8, KKB shot dead Oktovianus Rayo, a teacher at Primary School Beoga, Julugoma Village.

Then in the afternoon the group returned and burned several rooms at Primary and Junior High School 1 Beoga. During the action, KKB also shot Yonatan Randen, a teacher at Beoga 1 Junior High School in the chest.
