JAKARTA - The Regional Office (Kanwil) of South and Central Kalimantan (Kalselteng) criminalized six tax embezzlers with a state loss value of Rp3,370,753,584 throughout 2024.

The suspects AA, JA, and FM who were handed over to the Tanah Bumbu District Attorney on January 24, 2024, the largest amount of losses to state revenues, namely Rp1,637,082,135.

In terms of handling tax criminal cases, said Syamsinar, the Central Kalimantan DGT Regional Office always prioritizes the principle of ultimum remedium, namely criminal law will be used as the last resort in terms of law enforcement.

Previously, a series of stages of law enforcement had been carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

He hopes that this law enforcement can produce a deterrent effect for taxpayers so that similar incidents do not happen again.
