Dharma Pongrekun's Request In The Next Jakarta Pilkada: Don't Use Basic Food For Campaigns!

JAKARTA - Candidate for Governor of Jakarta number 2, Dharma Pongrekun revealed a special note to the General Elections Commission (KPU) to ensure that there is no longer any distribution of basic necessities in the next Jakarta Pilkada contestation.

This was expressed in his remarks at the plenary meeting to determine the elected candidate pair for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta held by the DKI Jakarta KPU.

"If possible, I propose that there really be no more use of basic necessities in the campaign. As Mr. Prabowo ordered, to save costs. So, it's really easy to save costs," said Dharma at the Pullman Hotel, Jakarta. West, Thursday, January 9th.

As a newcomer to the world of politics, this independent governor candidate assesses that the distribution of basic necessities to the public during the election campaign has the potential to enter the realm of money politics.

Thus, candidate pairs who are proven to use basic necessities to gain support, according to Dharma, should be sanctioned.

"If the determination, there is a rule that when it is found there are basic necessities, disqualification. So, the people's aspirations to get a leader who is trustworthy and civilized go through a civilized process as well, not just a slogan," explained Dharma.

Furthermore, to Pramono-Rano (Doel) who has been appointed as the elected Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakatta, Dharma asked both of them to keep Jakarta's air clean and unpolluted while leading Jakarta.

In fact, Dharma is ready to help clean Jakarta air. Because, according to him, there was air pollution engineering that occurred in Jakarta.

"I know who pollutes the weather in Jakarta so that it always rains but it's not evenly distributed. There is poison in the air, sir. I have to tell you. What is the goal? So that many are hospitalized," said Dharma.

Dharma hopes that the aspirations of the people entrusted to him can be considered by Pramono-Rano to formulate policies in the next five years of government, including concerns regarding air pollution engineering.

"I dare say this. I apologize to the Bawaslu KPU, Kapolda, Pangdam and everything here, the Provincial Information Commission, this March concerns the safety of our family's souls," he explained.

The DKI Jakarta KPU officially appointed Pramono Anung and Rano Karno as the elected Governors of Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada. This was stated in a plenary meeting to determine the elected candidate pair for the 2024 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election.

This is stated in the Decree of the DKI Jakarta KPU Number 9 of 2025 concerning the Determination of the Candidate Pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of the Elected Province of the Special Region of Jakarta in 2024 which was read by the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta KPU Wahyu Dinata.

"Determining the candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of the Special Region of Jakarta Number 3 Str. Dr. Ir. Pramono Anung Wibowo, MM and Sdr. H. Rano Karno, SIP (Si Doel) with 2,183,239 votes or 50.07% of the total valid votes, as the pair of candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor Elected for the Special Region of Jakarta for the period 2025-2030 in the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of the Special Region of Jakarta in 2024," Wahyu said.
