Not Invite Prabowo At The 52nd Anniversary Event, Djarot: Only For Internal Parties

JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDIP DPP, Djarot Syaiful Hidayat, stated that his party did not invite President Prabowo Subianto to attend the 52nd Anniversary (HUT) commemoration which will be held at the Lenteng Agung Party School, South Jakarta, tomorrow Friday, January 10. Djarot emphasized that the PDIP 52nd Anniversary event was only for internal parties.

"Regarding the party's anniversary invitation, because our simple event did not invite representatives of the government, we did not invite Pak Prabowo, for example," said Djarot in a press conference to prepare for the commemoration of PDIP's 52nd Anniversary at the PDIP DPP Office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Jakarta, Thursday, January 9.

"Because the party's anniversary is for our internal party. As a medium for us to carry out introspection and self-improvement, as well as to design various kinds of activities that directly touch the people. And we do it simply, so it is done at the party school," continued Djarot.

Although he did not invite Prabowo at the 52nd Anniversary, PDIP will send an invitation to the head of state to attend the PDIP Congress event which will be held soon.

"Pak Prabowo, God willing, we will invite the people ahead of the Party Congress," he said.

The theme of the 52nd Anniversary of the PDIP is 'Satyam Eva Jayate' with the theme 'Api Perjuangan Nan Tak Kunjung Padam'. Djarot said the event would be held simply considering that the nation's economic condition was not doing well.

Djarot explained that PDIP did not want to get involved in a luxurious party. Because according to him, the luxurious party held by the party will hurt the hearts of the people.

"If we face such a luxurious party's anniversary, it will hurt people's hearts. So it is full of simplicity, but ideologically meaningfully and directly followed by our movement to be able to go directly down together with the people," said Djarot.
