JAKARTA - Basuki Tjahja Purnama alias Ahok has undergone an examination by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, Thursday, January 9. The former President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) admitted that he was ready to help investigate allegations of corruption in the procurement of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
"In principle, we will help, yes," Ahok told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
Ahok underwent an examination for about 1.5 hours since arriving at the anti-corruption commission office at 11.15 WIB. He left at around 12.45 WIB.
The former governor of DKI Jakarta admitted that his examination was fast because he had given a previous statement. "It was faster because writing biodata was no longer necessary," he said.
"It's all there, you know. Just confirm it," continued Ahok.
Ahok did not specify the material for his examination. However, he admitted that the alleged riot related to the LNG procurement did not occur when he was in office.
This PDI-P cadre admitted that he only got the findings which he later reported. Meanwhile, Ahok was appointed by SOE Minister Erick Thohir as the main commissioner in 2019.
"There was a contract before I entered. Well, this was met in January 2020," he explained.
