Commission X Of The House Of Representatives Supports Prabowo's Plan To Build People's Schools For Underprivileged Families

JAKARTA Commission X DPR RI expressed its support for President Prabowo Subianto's plan to establish a People's School for underprivileged families. This idea was previously conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.

Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR RI, Lalu Hadrian Irfani, considered the initiative as a strategic step for equitable education as well as a form of government concern for the underprivileged.

According to Lalu, People's Schools not only offer free education, but also provide various facilities, including complete educational support facilities. This program is designed with the concept of boarding school or boarding school, so that students get their daily needs, including nutritious food, free of charge.

Then emphasized the importance of ensuring quality education even though it is free. He hopes that teachers who serve in People's Schools have high competence and provide education professionally and responsibly.

This dormitory concept allows children not only to get formal education, but also additional lessons that can shape their character, "explained Lalu.

He also added that this program will help underprivileged families access education without worrying about education, eating, school supplies, and other necessities.

Lebih lanjut, Lalu menyebut bahwa Sekolah Rakyat akan melengkapi keberadaan Sekolah Unggulan Garuda. Menurutnya, kedua sekolah ini tidak akan bersaing karena memiliki fokus yang berbeda.

Lalu juga menyarankan agar pembelajaran Sekolah Rakyat memanfaatkan bangunan-bangunan sekolah yang sudah ada, sehingga program ini dapat dijalankan tanpa memerlukan anggaran pembangunan yang besar.

"I think there are many school buildings that can be used. With a little renovation, this program can be realized immediately," concluded Lalu.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhaimin Iskandar said that President Prabowo Subianto planned to build a People's School under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs. This school will prioritize children from underprivileged families, especially those in the extreme poor category.

According to Cak Imin, the People's School trial program will be carried out in three locations in the Jabodetabek area. During the trial, all costs, including education and facilities, will be provided free of charge.

"The president wants to create a special school for underprivileged children. The concept is school boarding so that student nutrition is guaranteed," said Cak Imin after a limited meeting with President Prabowo at the Bogor Presidential Palace.

Cak Imin added that special attention to dormitories aims to ensure the basic needs of students, including nutrition, can be met.

"The most important thing is boarding school because that way students' nutritional needs can be handled properly," he concluded.
