NTT - A resident of Saenan Village, North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Fobia (39) handed over an active mangosteen grenade to be secured by the RI-Timor Leste Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas).

"The active grenade that Mr. Fobia handed over has been stored for several years by being buried in the ground," said the Head of the Territorial Section of the Indonesian-Timor Leste Military Security Task Force, West Sector Yonarmed 6/3 Kostrad Kostrad Captain Arm Anak Agung.

The incident began when Anak Agung visited and conducted social communication at Fobia's house in Saenan Village, West Miomaffo District on Tuesday, April 13.

From the visit, information was obtained regarding the existence of an active grenade type mangosteen made in Korea which was kept by the resident.

Agung said that his party conducted a deepening and a few days later returned to intensive communication and provided understanding to the residents concerned.

"We conveyed about the dangers of keeping grenade-type explosives private," he said.

From this approach, the residents finally volunteered to hand over the grenade for further safety.

Currently the grenade is being secured at the West Sector RI-Timor Leste Military Security Task Force Command Headquarters in an active condition.
