A 4-year-old Boy Was Found Dead Wrapped In A Black Sarong At The South Tambun Shophouse

JAKARTA - An unidentified 4-year-old child was found dead in a shophouse in Jatibaru Village, Setiadarma, South Tambun, Bekasi Regency, West Java, Monday, January 6, yesterday.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, said the victim was found wrapped in tarung with the characteristics of wearing black pants and a short t-shirt.

"The victim was found dead on his back covered in a black sarong. It is estimated that the victim is homeless and street children," said Ade Ary, Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Ade Ary explained that the discovery of the corpse began when witness AJ (51) who worked as a parking attendant (jukir) on Jalan Inspeksi Kalimalang, Bekasi Regency saw a man carrying an item wrapped in a black sarong towards the shophouse.

Shortly thereafter, witness S (51) saw a male and adult female couple near the scene. However, he was no longer carrying the items wrapped in the sarong.

Suspicious with the movements of the two men, the witness checked the shophouse. Sure enough, witness AJ and S saw the contents of the sarong, it turned out that the boy's body.

"After seeing, there was a boy who was already dead," he said.

Currently, the victim has been taken to the Police Hospital, Kramat Kati, East Jakarta (Jaktim) for an autopsy, to determine the cause of death of the victim.

"For the case, it is handled by the Bekasi Regency Metro Police," he concluded.
