JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi said there were a number of students who did not eat rice during the implementation of the free nutritious food program (MBG) which started today.

Therefore, in the distribution of MBG in the future, the carbohydrate content for students not to eat rice is replaced with potatoes.

"If no one likes rice or is not used to it, it can be replaced by potatoes, then also with protein, meaning there are variations," Teguh said after reviewing MBG at SMPN 61 Jakarta, Palmerah, West Jakarta, Monday, January 6.

Students who cannot eat the rice, whether they have allergies or don't like it, will be recorded by each school to be handed over to the nutritional fulfillment service unit (SPPG) for each region.

"From the school, we ask for data on whether there is an allergy or for example not eating rice, later we will replace it with potatoes," said Head of SPPG Palmerah Yudha Permana.

It was observed that on the first day of distribution of MBG in Jakarta schools, no milk was distributed. This was seen in MBG at SD Barunawati II and SMP Negeri 61 Jakarta which were distributed from SPPG Palmerah.

The school became the location for the review of Deputy Minister of Social Affairs (Wamensos) Agus Jabo Priyono, Spokesperson for the Presidential Communication Office, Dedek Prayudi, and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Agus admitted that the cause of there was no milk in the distribution of MBG on the first day in Jakarta was due to limited stock. Thus, milk is not served every day.

"The milk problem is planned because it doesn't exist today, it's been a week, two to three times. So, it's not every day. It's targeted for a week, about two to three times there is milk," said Agus at SD Barunawati, West Jakarta.

The food menus served include rice, teriyaki chicken, fried tofu, long peanut tumis, and oranges.
