No Milk On The First Day Of Free Nutrition Eating In Jakarta, This Is The Reason

JAKARTA - The implementation of the free nutritious food program (MBG) has begun simultaneously. It was observed that on the first day of distribution of MBG in Jakarta schools, no milk was distributed.

This was seen in MBG at SD Barunawati II and SMP Negeri 61 Jakarta which were distributed from the Palmerah Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).

The school became the location for the review of Deputy Minister of Social Affairs (Wamensos) Agus Jabo Priyono, Spokesperson for the Presidential Communication Office, Dedek Prayudi, and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Agus admitted that the cause of there was no milk in the distribution of MBG on the first day in Jakarta was due to limited stock. Thus, milk is not served every day.

"The milk problem is planned because it doesn't exist today, it's not there yet, it's been two to three times a week. So, it's not every day. It's targeted that a week, about two to three times there will be milk," Agus said at SD Barunawati, West Jakarta, Monday, January 6.

The food menus served include rice, teriyaki chicken, fried tofu, long peanut tumis, and oranges.

Acting Governor of DKI Teguh Setyabudi said the MBG food menu in schools will change every day.

"This menu variant will always change and later we hope that in terms of monitoring the quality will also be maintained. From the provincial government, we support from the aspect of educational socialization," said Teguh.

The implementation of MBG in Jakarta on the first day, only 12,054 students in 41 schools were able to eat free food from President Prabowo Subianto's flagship program.

Currently, there are 4 SPPGs or MBG kitchens that provide food from the first day. There are 13 additional SPPGs that will start operating gradually until the end of January 2025.

On a national scale, the implementation of the first day of MBG took place in 26 provinces with 190 SPPG. The government targets 937 MBG kitchens to be achieved by the end of January 2025 with the implementation carried out in stages in accordance with the readiness of each region.
