The Government Proposes BPIH To Return To 2025 To IDR 89.6 Million, Hajj Pilgrims Pay IDR 55.5 Million

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) has re-proposed the Cost of Organizing Hajj (BPIH) for 2025 amounting to IDR 89,666,469.26.

"For BPIH, after we studied its rationality, service quality and of course its efficiency, we are currently proposing Rp. 89,666,469.26," said Director General (Dirjen) of Hajj and Umrah Implementation of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Hilman Latief in a meeting with the Commission VIII DPR Working Committee (Panja).

Of the amount of BPIH, the fee charged to each congregation or the 2025 Hajj Travel Fee (Bipih) is IDR 55,593,201.57 or 62 percent of BPIH.

Meanwhile, the fee paid from the value of the benefits was IDR 34,073,267.69 or 38 percent of BPIH. Hilman said the decrease in the budget still refers to the exchange rate of IDR 16,000 and the Riyal of Saudi Arabia amounting to IDR 4,266.67.

Previously, the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) proposed the Cost of Organizing Hajj for the Hajj season 1446 Hijri/2025 amounting to Rp93,389,684 per person.

"For the year 1446 Hijri or 2025 AD, the government proposes an average BPIH per hajj candidate of IDR 93,389,684," said Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar in a Working Meeting of the Minister of Religion with Commission VIII DPR in Jakarta, Monday (30/12).

Nasaruddin Umar said that the proposal consisted of the Hajj Travel Fee borne by prospective hajj of IDR 65,372,779 or 70 percent, while IDR 28,016,905 or 30 percent was borne by the value of the benefits managed by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH).

The components of the Hajj costs include flight costs from thembarkation to Saudi Arabia (PP) amounting to IDR 34,386,390.68, accommodation at Makkah IDR 15,232,011.90, accommodation in Medina IDR 4,454,403.48, living expenses IDR 3,200,002.50, and public service packages IDR 8,099,970.94.

The determination of the BPIH will be carried out by the government and the Panja for Hajj Costs. Until now, the Panja for Hajj Fees has not decided on the cost of the Hajj. The meeting is still suspended to make a number of corrections to each component of Hajj financing.
