JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Jakarta will appoint Pramono Anung and Rano Karno (Pramono-Rano) as governors and deputy governors of Jakarta elected on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Head of the Jakarta KPU Data and Information Division, Fahmi Ziryptah, said that his party was still waiting for a notification letter from the KPU to continue the determination agenda.

"We have submitted the plan for determining Thursday, and we have submitted the invitation to all Pilkada participants and representatives of political parties," said Fahmi, last Sunday.

Head of the Technical Division for the Implementation of the Jakarta KPU Election, Dody Wijaya, added that after the determination of the results, it would be submitted to the Jakarta DPRD.

"So the plan is for Thursday to carry out the determination of the elected governor. However, the place may not be at the KPU, but outside because of the large number of invited guests who will attend," he said after officially submitting the invitation to the determination to the Pramono Anung-Rano Karno pair at Pramono Anung's residence today.

In the 2024 Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada), candidate pair number 3 Pramono-Rano won with 2,183,239 votes. Meanwhile, candidate pair number 1 Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (Rido) won 1,718,160 votes and serial number 2 Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana won 459,230 votes.

The determination of the winner was made after the Constitutional Court (MK) officially informed the KPU of the absence of a dispute in the Constitutional Case Registration Book (BRPK).

"Kami mengikuti jadwal sesuai PKPU 18. Setelah BRPK diterima, kami langsung menetapkan pasangan terpilih," jelas Fahmi.

With this determination, the Pramono-Rano pair is expected to immediately prepare to lead Jakarta for the next five years.
