Two Men Died Drowning In Ancol River Turns Out To Be Parking Attendants Being Chased By Unknown Persons

JAKARTA - Two men named Dwi Triono (38) and Alfiansyah (28) who died drowned in Kali Ancol, Pademangan District, North Jakarta, apparently worked as parking attendants (jukir) around the Ancol area. The two men had disappeared and drowned on Wednesday afternoon, January 1, 2025, at around 17.00 WIB.

According to information gathered, before they died, the two were chased by unknown people, so Dwi's victim threw himself into the Ancol River out of panic.

"Victim Dwi panicked and was afraid of being chased by unknown people until he threw himself away," said Pratama, one of the witnesses at the scene, Thursday, January 2.

Meanwhile, the victim Alfiansyah wanted to help the victim by throwing himself away. But unfortunately, Alfiansyah drowned with Dwi.

"Both of them drowned yesterday. Earlier at 08.52 WIB, the victim Alfiansyah was found 5 meters from the scene. If Dwi's victim was found 3 meters from the scene," he said.

The two victims were found dead by the joint SAR team on Thursday morning, January 2.

Head of the Jakarta SAR Office as SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC), Desiana Kartika Bahari, said the victim's body had been evacuated to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for further processing.

"Previously the sweeping was carried out on Thursday morning using a rubber boat and anchoring around the scene," he said.

Meanwhile, dozens of joint SAR personnel were deployed in the search for victims, including the Jakarta SAR Office, Polair Polda Metro Jaya, Pademangan Police, Brimob Kedung Halang, BPBD DKJ, North Jakarta Gulkarmat and other SAR elements.
