PDIP Warns MKD After Calling Rieke Who Is Considered A Provoker Rejecting VAT 12 Percent: Don't Be A Police

JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives from the PDIP faction, Aria Bima, asked the Honorary Court (MKD) to place themselves according to the portion of his duties and authorities as a panel that maintains the honor of the council.

Aria Bima warned the MKD not to take care of all the behavior of the council, even those who become the functions and duties of the people's representatives.

This was conveyed in response to a member of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Rieke Diah Pitaloka, who was reported to the DPR for allegedly violating ethics. Rieke was reported by Alfadjri Aditia Prayoga because he was considered to have provoked the public to refuse an increase in Value Added Tax (VAT) to 12 percent.

"There are two honorable council members, institutional decisions and also the behavior of council members. Do not deny that MKD takes care of matters related to the function of the council members' duties. If that is in a statement, in his attitude to injure the council institutions, please, but if it is in the context of his duties. given the mandate and mandate of the people, do not then MKD become a police officer," said Aria Bima, Monday, December 30.

Aria admitted that he respects the MKD if he summoned a member of the council whose behavior was to injure the institution. However, according to him, the issue of Rieke's statement regarding his criticism of the increase in VAT is not a dissorientation.

"I am sure that the MKD will not summon Ms. Rieke Diah Pitaloka regarding the statements that convey the aspirations of the community regarding the implementation of VAT 12 percent," he said.

The Central Java electoral district legislator also reminded the MKD not to participate in intervening in the immunity of council members. He believes that the MKD is not latah to summon any members reported.

"I protest that, MKD should not be arrogant in responding to the things made by the members of the council, it could be that the MKD was dissolved," he concluded.

MKD previously confirmed a report against Rieke Diah Pitaloka. The report was submitted by Alfadjri Aditia Prayoga who considered Rieke to be provoking to reject the increase in VAT to 12 percent.

"Together, we convey that the MKD has received a complaint from Alfadjri Aditia Prayoga dated December 20, 2024, which complained against you because of the alleged violation of the code of ethics for your statement in the content uploaded to social media accounts regarding the invitation or provocation to reject the 12 percent VAT policy," reads the summons signed by the Chairman of the DPR MKD Nazaruddin Dek Gam on December 27, 2024.

In the letter, MKD will initially hear Rieke on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11.00 WIB at the Nusantara I Building of the DPR, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

However, the trial was finally postponed until the DPR recess ended on January 20, 2025.
