Hasto Kristiyanto's Case Heats Up The Political Situation 2025

The determination of the Secretary General of the PDI-P, Hasto Kristiyanto, as a suspect by the KPK in the bribery case, Harun Masiku, is said to be able to heat up the political situation in Indonesia by 2025.

"After the Pilkada, especially in Jakarta, I thought 2025 would cool down our political situation. It turned out that there was even a case that dragged Mas Hasto. This is what I think making (the 2025 political situation) will heat up again," said the Executive Director of the Strategic Political Trias, Agung Baskoro, Sunday, December 29, 2024.

Moreover, Hasto recently claimed to have several videos containing alleged corruption scandals by state officials. "So I see that 2025 will be very hot, especially since the video is said to reveal many powerful and big names with losses, we don't know how much," he added.

Agung also called the assumption of politicization and criminalization of the law against Hasto Kristiyanto a natural thing. This is because this assumption arises considering that many large cases but are not handled properly by the KPK.

"Yes, it's fine, politicization, criminalization, because there are other cases that are currently underway at the KPK, and state losses are greater there. But why is this being focused on? This is interesting," he said.

As is known, the KPK has named Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect in the case of alleged bribery and obstruction of investigation in the Harun Masiku case. Hasto himself has responded to the determination as a suspect through a video reported by the PDI Perjuangan Youtube channel.

"After my determination as a suspect by the KPK, the attitude of the PDI-P is to respect the decisions of the KPK. We are a law-abiding citizen. PDI-P is a party that upholds the rule of law. From the start, when I criticized how democracy should be enforced, how people's voices cannot be castrated, how the rule of law cannot be turned off, and how the eyes of authoritarian power, who oppress their own people must be stopped," said Hasto.
