JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka checked the KM 149 Gedebage Toll Gate, Bandung, West Java, to ensure the readiness of infrastructure access to support community mobility in the momentum of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.

The check was carried out as a realization of President Prabowo Subianto's directive in a limited meeting regarding preparations for the Nataru holiday so that the momentum could run smoothly bringing peace and joy.

"In the last meeting, we prepared a number of access so that the Nataru holiday can run well, including the opening of several temporary functional toll roads," Gibran said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 20.

The review of the KM 149 Gedebage Toll Gate, Bandung was carried out to see its readiness as a toll gate that had previously experienced intensive maintenance and had just returned to operation.

The KM 149 Gedebage Toll Gate, which is part of the Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road (BIUTR) Pasteur-Gedebage Toll Road network and the Gedebage-Tasikmalaya-Cilacap (Getaci) Toll Road, has strategic functions.

These strategic functions include connecting West Java and Central Java, as well as supporting the mobility of users of the Indonesia China Fast Train (KCIC).

The rebuilding of this toll gate will take place from August to December 2024 with an investment of IDR 74.3 billion.

This project covers two ramps, namely 1.7 kilometers long RampA at a cost of IDR 35.2 billion and 1.4 kilometers of IDR 39.1 billion. The road on both ramps has a width of 10.3 meters with two lanes (2x2 lanes).

The re-operation of the KM 149 Gedebage Toll Gate is expected to increase accessibility and connectivity in the Gedebage area, including to the KCIC Tegalluar Station, GBLA Stadium, and Al-Jabbar Grand Mosque.

The existence of this toll gate also contributes to reducing the traffic load on Jalan Soekarno-Hatta, especially in the Sp. Kiaracondong-Sp. Cibiru segment.

Seeing its strategic function, Vice President Gibran appealed to local governments and infrastructure managers to continue to monitor the situation in the field during the Nataru period.

He also advised all relevant parties to continue to carry out intensive coordination regarding traffic management and anticipatory steps to increase the volume of vehicles. "The point is that we don't want congestion or buildup of [vehicles] during Nataru," said Gibran.
