Visit To Egypt, Prabowo Issues Presidential Decree On Tasks To Gibran

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto issued Presidential Decree Number 34 of 2024 regarding the delegation of presidential tasks in the country to Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka during the President's visit to Egypt on December 17, 2024.

The Presidential Decree, which was accessed from the official website of the Ministry of State Secretariat in Jakarta, Tuesday, was signed by President Prabowo on Monday (16/12).

Presiden Prabowo, dalam bagian pertimbangan keppres, menjelaskan penugasan kepada Wapres Gibran itu bertujuan menjaga lancarnya pelaksanaan pemerintahan.

The legal provisions that form the basis for the issuance of the Presidential Decree are Article 4 Paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and Law Number 30 of 2014 concerning Government Administration (RI State Gazette of 2014 Number 292, State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5601).

In the Presidential Decree, President Prabowo has set four main points.

First, the president assigns the vice president to carry out his daily duties by the provisions of the legislation while the president carries out state visits, official visits, and working visits to Egypt, and the D-8 High Level Conference on December 17, 2024 or until the date the president returns to his homeland.

Second, the Presidential Decree stipulates that if within the term of assignment it is necessary to immediately determine a new policy, the vice president as the executor of the president's duties must first consult and ask for the president's approval.

Third, the presidential decree regulates that after the president returns to his homeland, the assignment ends and the vice president immediately reports the implementation of the task to the president.

Fourth, the presidential decision is effective from the date of stipulation on December 16, 2024.

President Prabowo left for Egypt from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Tuesday morning, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet.

The visit became the first President of the Republic of Indonesia's state visit to Egypt since 2013.

In Egypt, President Prabowo is scheduled to meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, then attend the D-8 Summit, which is an economic cooperation forum for eight countries, namely Indonesia, Bangladesh, Iran, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey.
