Rauf And Fina, IVF Parents At RSIJ Cempaka Putih Taken To The Police Hospital

JAKARTA - The exhumation of the body of the allegedly swapped baby at the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital (RSIJ), Central Jakarta, was completed by the Forensic Medical Installation of the Police Hospital, Pusdokes Polri and Polres Metro Central Jakarta on Tuesday, December 16. For the DNA matching process, the police also brought the Rauf and Fina couple, the parents of the allegedly swapped baby, to the Police Hospital.

"With humanitarian reasons as well as in the context of the investigation, we carried out an exhumation to provide certainty of the status of the child," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro.

The exhumation of the baby's body was carried out after the Central Jakarta Metro Police followed up an investigation regarding the viral video from the victim's parents.

"We underlie the information from his parents who had gone viral from social media, there were long differences and so on, that was physically seen. Today we want to confirm DNAally, whether the child is indeed the child of the right parent," he said.

The DNA testing process will last for 2 weeks at the Forensic Installation of the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta.

"About 2 weeks we will see the progress. Today we immediately took the parents to the National Police Hospital installation to take samples so that they can be matched," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Central Jakarta Metro Police would exhume the baby's body at Semper Cemetery, Cilincing, North Jakarta on Tuesday, December 17. The announcement will be made at 09.00 WIB.

"Regarding the case of the alleged exchange of babies in Cempaka Putih, we will exhume it together with the Forensic Medical Installation at Bhayangkara Hospital, the National Police Pusdokes witnessed by the parents and the Cempaka Putih Hospital," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro when confirmed, Monday, December 16.
