Searching BI Regarding The CSR Fund Case, KPK: Searches Were Conducted On Monday Night

JAKARTA The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the Bank Indonesia (BI) office on Monday night, December 16, 2024. This search was carried out as part of an investigation into the alleged corruption case in the use of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds from Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

"It's true, a team from the KPK last night searched BI's office," said KPK spokesman, Tessa Mahardhika, Tuesday, December 17.

This search step aims to complete evidence related to the alleged misappropriation of CSR funds. However, the KPK has not explained in detail the findings of the search.

The Director of KPK Investigation, Asep Guntur, explained that the investigation focused on allegations of misuse of CSR funds that were not in accordance with their designation.

"CSR funds are usually intended for social activities such as the construction of houses, places of worship, roads, bridges, or other facilities. There is no problem if the funds are used according to their designation," said Asep.

"However, problems arise when some of the funds are not used properly. For example, if CSR is worth 100, but only 50 are used, then the problem is where the remaining 50 are," he continued.

Asep emphasized that the KPK is investigating allegations that some CSR funds are used for personal gain.

"If the funds are used to build the facilities that are planned, there is no problem. The problem is when the funds are diverted to other things, such as personal interests," explained Asep.

The KPK continues to dig up information related to alleged misappropriation of CSR funds from BI and OJK. The search at BI's office on Monday night was one of the efforts to gather additional evidence to strengthen the legal construction of this case.

This case is still under investigation, and the KPK is expected to provide further developments regarding the findings and parties involved in the alleged corruption.
