JAKARTA - The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has finished testing the second stage of the flyover of Lenteng Agung and Tanjung Barat, otherwise known as the Tapal Kuda flyover.
Head of DKI Highway Agency, Hari Nugroho said that the trial was conducted from April 1 to April 6, 2021, from 06.00 a.m to 22.00 p.m. local time. Now, both flyovers have been permanently opened.
"After the phase two trials, both fly-overs are opened to be crossed by vehicles for both north-to-north and south-to-south rounds", Hari said in a statement Wednesday, April 14.
However, there is a record from the results of the Tapal Kuda flyover trial. Flyover operation is not optimal which often experiences congestion, especially in the morning in the on-ramp area from Depok to Pasar Minggu.
Hari said, congestion still occurs due to the lack of discipline of riders in traffic on the flyover.
"Therefore, a coordination will be carried out with relevant parties such as the Mayor, the Department of Transportation, and the local Police so that traffic passing through the flyover can run smoothly and safely", said Hari.
Although it has been permanently opened, currently in the area there is still work on the completion of the people-crossing bridge (JPO) and other flyover improvement work.
"Therefore, it is expected for road users to comply with existing traffic signs for safety and mutual comfort in traffic", he said.
