Prabowo: In Politics We Can't Hate Opponents, Disgracess

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto said that in the world of politics you should not hate your opponent, such as rebuking or cursing.

"I never want to be provoked to hate. In the political field, we must not hate the opponent, insult, or rebuke. Back to our personalities, back to the original personality of the Indonesian nation from all tribes," said Prabowo.

This was conveyed in his remarks at the Peak of the 60th Anniversary of the Golkar Party at Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor, West Java, Thursday, December 12.

Prabowo emphasized that the Indonesian nation has noble values inherited by ancestors such as deliberation and negotiations in resolving differences.

The President emphasized the importance of prioritizing values such as the principles of dhuwur dem jero, namely lifting good things and harboring negative things.

"It is impossible that there is no difference between humans, there is no difference between groups, it is impossible that there is no wrong, it is impossible that there is no wrong action, it is impossible that there is no misunderstanding, it is impossible," said Prabowo.

On the international stage, the President highlighted the geopolitical tensions that are currently happening between big countries. In this situation, the President is grateful that Indonesia has become a non-stop country and adheres to active free foreign politics.

However, it is also reminded that vigilance is still needed so that the Indonesian people are not easily divided or pitted against each other.

"We must not be provoked, and this is the responsibility of all of us as leaders. Leaders must set an example. We are grateful that we are now in the current condition," said Prabowo.

The Head of State emphasized that peace is not something that just comes, but the result of a difficult process.

The President also invited all levels of society, especially leaders, to remain united and not to allow dissent to be a reason of hostility.

"Not all countries and not all forces in the world have good intentions. For that, we must be vigilant. We must be vigilant and the key is that all elements of leaders from all walks of life can come together, united does not mean we do not have different opinions, but in the end we must not be hostile," said the President.
