Bobby Nasution Will Realize The Promise Of Building An Islamic Center, Starting From An Independent Mosque

MEDAN - Medan City Government, North Sumatra, plans to establish an independent mosque that serves not only as a place of worship but also as a center for the empowerment of people.

Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution after the meeting of economic empowerment of the people said the idea of the establishment of an independent mosque was started to build an Islamic Center.

"This Islamic Center, as the center of Muslim civilization in Medan. Before the physical is built, first must be built independent mosque networks, so that the management of Islamic center easier", he said quoted Antara, Tuesday, April 12

With the launch of the independent mosque program later, Bobby Nasution hoped to get the support of residents in Medan." I hope the people of Medan, especially Islamic organizations, support and be involved in the establishment of this independent mosque", said President Jokowi's son-in-law.

Meanwhile, The Head of Medan City Police Agency Sulaiman Harahap explained that in Medan there are 1,115 mosques and 653 mosques.

The establishment of this independent mosque is driven by the intention of boosting development in four areas, namely education, economy, social, and health.

"These four planned areas are by the vision and mission of the Mayor of Medan," he explained.

Islamic Center Promise in Medan

Bobby Nasution during the Medan regional elections once talked about the plan to build an Islamic Center. According to President Joko Widodo's son-in-law (Jokowi), Islamic Center has been discoursing for too long, so he targets realized development.

Bobby in September 2020 had visited residents in Tangkahan Village, Medan Labuhan. He got a lot of input and aspirations from the community that I got, one of which is the issue of the construction of the Islamic Center.

"It turns out that the construction of the Islamic Center has long been planned, but until now has not been realized. Even though the people of Medan Labuhan are very hopeful of an Islamic Center in their area," said Bobby.

"Hearing the aspirations of the community, Bang Aulia and I have targeted to build an Islamic Center in Rawe VII Street, Tangkahan Village, Medan Labuhan with an area of up to 100 hectares", he continued.

Bobby Nasution hoped that the Islamic Center would soon be established. In addition to being the center of da'wah and Islamic studies, it will also be a religious tourist destination that will revive the populous economy in Medan.
