The Alleged Perpetrator Of Child Abuse Killed By Mobs In Palembang

PALEMBANG - A man suspected of committing child molestation was killed by residents on Jalan Sukabangun II, Griya Buana 2 Housing, Sukajaya Village, Sukarami District, Palembang, South Sumatra.

The video clip of the molestation incident that occurred on Friday at around 14.00 WIB went viral on social media.

The perpetrator, who had the initials SUG (52), a resident of Jalan Sukabangun I, died at Bhayangkara M Hasan Hospital, South Sumatra Police after being taken for treatment due to injuries suffered after being beaten by the masses. The perpetrator is suspected of molesting a girl with the initials BNA (10).

Sukarami Police Chief Kompol Alex Andriyan said, based on the statements of the victim's parents and BNA, the perpetrator committed the obscene act about a week ago. The victim was invited to the toilet of the mosque near the victim's house and ordered to open his pants.

"It happened about a week ago, the perpetrator told the victim to open his pants and it was suspected that the perpetrator had opened his pants as well. Then the victim's sensitive area was held by the perpetrator and wanted to be included," said Alex when confirmed, Monday, December 9.

On the day of the incident, the victim's father met the alleged perpetrator and then an argument broke out. Then the residents came to gang up on the perpetrator until he was battered.

After receiving the report, members of the Sukarami Police picket came to the location and saw the condition of the perpetrator with his hands tied.

"Then the officers took the alleged perpetrator to the Bhayangkara hospital for help, when he arrived at the hospital he received treatment but could not be helped and died," he said.

Alex added that currently the handling of the case has been transferred to the Palembang Polrestabes. "The handling is taken over by the Palembang Polrestabes Satreskrim PPA Unit," he said.

According to the Head of RT 90 Sukajaya Basyarul Huda, the alleged perpetrator has molested BNA twice. The perpetrator was in the vicinity of the local housing and reservoir.

"The perpetrator is not from here, no one knows him, the perpetrator has been around for the previous few days often around here because this is a place for residents to relax," he said.

From the statements of BNA's parents and the victim, the alleged perpetrator gave the victim the lure of food.

"As far as I know, even those affected by the abuse of the incident were in the toilet of the mosque. There was even the confession of the child twice (beting molested) by allegedly giving children food in the form of ice cream and giving money," he said.
