US Sends Military Aid Packages To Ukraine Worth IDR 15.6 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Pentagon announced that the United States (US) had started sending military aid packages worth US$988 million or Rp15.6 trillion

The package includes ammunition for the 'HIMARS' rocket launcher system, unmanned air equipment, components.

"Including equipment, components, and spare parts to maintain, repair, and reshuffle armored artillery, tank, and vehicle systems," the Pentagon said in a written statement, Sunday, December 8, quoted by Tass.

The gun aid package is based on the Ukrainian Security Assistance (USAI) Prekarsa deal, the authorities purchased Ukrainian weapons from US manufacturers.

Earlier, Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder stated that the US Government's military aid package was to carry out any possibility of supporting Ukraine ahead of its term of office.

He noted that the US Department of Defense has the remaining $6.8 billion to Ukraine under the Presidential Forces Withdrawal Authority (PDA), which allows the transfer of weapons from US supplies, and $2.2 billion under USAI initiative.
