The National Police Chief Orders His Staff To Continue To Pursue Fredy Pratama

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said he had ordered his staff to continue to pursue the presence of international drug dealer Fredy Pratama.

"I have ordered the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and the Head of the Hubinter Police to continue to carry out activities, in this case either with Interpol or with police-to-police activities to continue to pursue the whereabouts of Fredy Pratama," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 5.

Although Fredy Pratama's network has been secured several times by the police, the National Police Chief still instructed him to continue teaching drug kingpins who are currently living in Thailand.

"Although we know that we continue to reveal the network, I have also ordered Fredy Pratama to be arrested sooner or later," he asserted.

It is known that Fredy Pratama is an Indonesian citizen who lives and controls drug trafficking from Thailand. Fredy has been on the People's Wanted List (DPO) since 2014.

In an effort to arrest Fredy, the National Police formed a team codenamed Operation Escobar. Several Fredy Pratama networks are continuously revealed by the police. They are not only charged with articles related to drug trafficking, but also money laundering (TPPU).

Head of the National Police's Hubinter Division, Inspector General Krishna Murti, previously said that the Thai Prime Minister had guaranteed to help Indonesia arrest Fredy Pratama.

"For the case (Fredy Pratama), they are 100 percent serious about catching up to help us. It's just that they asked for time. There is already a guarantee from the Prime Minister of Thailand," he said.

Talks of cooperation between the two countries in arresting Fredy Pratama are getting stronger after Indonesia managed to arrest Thailand's number one fugitive, namely Chaowalit Thungduang alias Sia Pang Nanode alias Sulaiman.

However, he revealed that the search for the drug kingpin took time.

"We, when in touch with the international community, the political system of each country is different. We must be very careful. International diplomacy must be considered," he said.
