Wanting A Clean And Corruption Government To Be Lost, Prabowo Subianto Admits He Was Laughed At And Ridiculed

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto revealed that he was aware of the various ridicule from several parties against him when he had the will to realize a government that was free from corruption.

"It's not easy, it's very difficult. Even I was laughed at, I was ridiculed. But I was used to being ridiculed, 'How is it possible to eliminate corruption in Indonesia? How is it possible to eliminate poverty? How can it eliminate hunger?" he said at the opening of the 120th Anniversary of the Muhammadiyah Anniversary and Reception in Kupang, NTT, Wednesday, December 4.

He said, not only efforts to eliminate corruption that was laughed at, but also other programs, one of which was free nutritious food for school children. There was even a threat to the financial market and the rupiah currency.

"In the first days I launched the idea of eating nutritiously, there (threats) have emerged (threats), I understand. I have been an Indonesian for a long time. I understand there is an open threat and a subtle threat. There are weapons that are open (such as) cannon rifles. But previously there were other weapons, psychological weapons, fighting against each other, slander, hoaxes," he explained.

Nevertheless, Prabowo emphasized that he was not worried about the various accounts.

Furthermore, he invited all parties to learn from the history in which a corrupt government cannot bring prosperity to the people. Therefore, all parties must continue to fight together in order to make this happen.

I believe we can [grow the economy] up to 8 percent. If the government is strict, clean, efficient, I'm sure we can," he said.
