Acting Mayor Of Pekanbaru Arrested By KPK After Joining The BUMD Tirta Siak Meeting

PekanbarU - Acting (Pj) Mayor of Pekanbaru, Risnandar Mahiva, was caught in a sting operation (OTT) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday, December 2 night. Previously, Risnandar had chaired a meeting to evaluate the performance of BUMD Tirta Siak in the meeting room of the mayor of Pekanbaru, the Tenayan Raya Office complex.

The meeting was attended by a number of regional officials, including representatives from Tirta Siak. However, just hours after the meeting was over, the KPK arrested Risnandar.

Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak confirmed the news of the arrest of the Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru in the KPK OTT. "Yes, that's right, the Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru was caught in the KPK OTT," said Tanak.

However, the KPK has not provided further information regarding other parties who were also secured or the evidence confiscated when the Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru was arrested by the KPK OTT.

Responding to the OTT, the chairman of the Pekanbaru DPRD Golkar faction Roni Amriel hopes that services at Pekanbaru City Government will not be disrupted.

"Essentially, we want services in any form in the city government to continue as usual, especially towards the end of the year where there are many activities that must be completed," said Roni as quoted by B-Network, Hello Riau.

Roni also requested that all employees of the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) in Pemko Pekanbaru remain focused on carrying out their duties and obligations.

This incident occurred in the midst of many programs and activities that the Pekanbaru City Government had to complete towards the end of the year. The focus on community service is a top priority so that the wheels of government continue to run smoothly despite disturbances at the leadership level after the Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru was caught in the KPK OTT.
