JAKARTA – Development consultant Muannas Alaidid responded to the accusations made by Said Didu regarding the National Strategic Project (PSN) PIK 2. Muannas assessed that the accusations were a form of slander that used the names of President Prabowo Subianto and a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet to support a baseless negative narrative.

Previously, Said Didu uploaded via social media a statement from President Prabowo and three ministers in the Red and White Cabinet (KMP) that had a positive tone regarding resistance and exposing injustice in PSN-PIK 2.

Muannas explained that Said Didu had previously accused the Association of All Indonesian Village Governments (Apdesi) of being involved in the land acquisition for PIK 2 which he said was detrimental to the local community. However, according to Muannas, the accusations were wrong.

"Apdesi is actually a representation of the local community that has synergized in the development of PIK 2. This project opens up new jobs and encourages investment in previously underdeveloped areas," Muannas told reporters on Monday, December 2.

He added that the narrative built by Said Didu not only created public unrest, but also contradicted the government's vision to support sustainable development in order to realize Indonesia Emas 2045.

"The slander triggered a strong reaction from village heads and Apdesi members who were ready to defend the real benefits of this project," he continued.

Muannas also highlighted Said Didu's accusations against several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet. For example, Minister Maruarar Sirait, who according to Said Didu supports exclusive areas, even though the facts show that PIK 2 is a leading tourist destination with 5 million visitors during the 2024 Eid holiday.

Meanwhile, Minister Yandri Susanto and Nusron Wahid were also accused of not being transparent in the land acquisition for the project. Muannas denied the accusations, stating that the land acquisition was carried out transparently in accordance with Law No. 2 of 2012 and had complied with the Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) set by the local government.

"This project is built on previously unproductive land and aims to become a modern tourism area. With an investment value of IDR 40 trillion from private funds, the planned facilities include mangrove tourism, the largest mosque, an F1 circuit, and an environmental education area," he explained.

According to Muannas, the narrative put forward by Said Didu is an attempt to create polarization for personal gain. He emphasized the importance of transparency and public education so that the public is not consumed by misleading information.

"PIK 2 is real evidence of collaboration between the government, private sector, and the community in realizing sustainable development. Slander like this should not damage trust in the national strategic program," said Muannas.

The PIK 2 project, designed as a modern tourism icon and innovation center, is expected to continue to provide real benefits to the community and strengthen the local and national economy.
