Death Toll From NTT Disaster 179 People, 45 People Still Wanted

JAKARTA - The death toll from Tropical Cyclone Seroja in East Nusa Tenggara has been updated from 177 people to 179 people. A total of 45 people are still in the search.

"The victims of the disaster to this day who died are 179 people and missing 45," said Deputy Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Josef Nae Soi quoted Antara, Monday, April 12

There was an addition of one person each who was declared dead from Malacca and Rote Ndao districts, according to local provincial government data.

While 45 people are still missing, Josef said local authorities are working on a search with sniffer dogs, Search and Recue Dog, as well as the K9 Unit to find traces.

According to the data presented, the death toll in Kupang city there are six people died, in East Flores Regency, namely 72 people died, and two people are missing.

Then in Malacca Regency there were eight people died. Meanwhile, Lembata Regency 47 people died and 22 people were missing.

Ende and Rote Ndao counties were found dead each. In addition, Sabu Raijua County: there were three dead, and five missing.

Alor County has 28 dead, and 13 missing. Kupang regency has 12 dead, and three missing. Lastly Sikka Regency there was one person died.
