The Dompu Resort Police, West Nusa Tenggara, has named one suspect in the alleged destruction of a number of mining facilities belonging to PT Sumbawa Timur Mining (STM).
"We have named one suspect. We have detained him in the detention center of the Dompu Police," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Dompu Police Inspector Satu Zuharis by telephone, Antara, Friday, November 29.
He explained that the suspect was a resident of the mining ring from Daha Village, Hu'u District, Dompu Regency. He was recorded participating in the destruction action on November 1, 2024.
"In the video footage, his face was clearly visible in the action," he said.
Investigators named the man as a suspect by applying the suspicion of Article 170 of the Criminal Code.
"Because the article is jointly, so there is a possibility of additional suspects, this is still being developed," he said.
Regarding the motive for the perpetrator and his group to carry out the vandalism, Zuharis admitted that he had not heard the full explanation from the investigators.
