KPU: 6 KPPS Officers In The 2024 Regional Head Election Died, 115 Others Sick

The General Elections Commission (KPU) noted that 6 officers from the polling group (KPPS) died in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election as of Friday, November 29 at 00.00 WIB.

"Based on data until November 29 at 00.00 WIB, six officers from the polling stations or KPPS died," said KPU RI Chairman Mochammad Afifuddin at the Press Conference on the Development of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections at the KPU RI Office, Jakarta, Friday, November 29, which was confiscated by Antara.

Then, 115 KPPS officers who had accidents and were sick while working.

In addition, Afifuddin said that KPPS officers in the 2024 Pilkada who died were confirmed to receive compensation. The amount of the compensation reached Rp36 million and funeral compensation of Rp10 million.

"We also want to convey the amount of compensation for victims of the type of death and so on based on the (regulation) of the Minister of Finance, the cost of the unit is Rp36 million. For funeral expenses assistance Rp10 million," he said.

Meanwhile, permanent disabled KPPS officers received compensation of Rp. 30,800,000. Then, KPPS officers who suffered serious injuries were Rp. 16,500,000.

The amount of compensation has been regulated based on the Letter of the Minister of Finance S-647/MK.02/2022 through the Other Input Fee Unit (SBML) for General Election Stages and Election Stages.

In addition, the compensation for the KPPS officers who died was contained in KPU Regulation Number 8 of 2022 and General Election Commission Decree Number 59 of 2023.
