East Jakarta KPU Confirms There Is Cheating In Pinang Ranti, 19 Letters Have Been Voted For Paslon Pramono-Rano

The East Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) confirmed the fraud in the Pilkada that occurred at the 028 polling station (TPS), Pinang Ranti, East Jakarta.

At least 19 ballots were found to have been cast for candidate pair number 3. One ballot has entered the ballot box, while the other 18 have not.

Based on the results of the East Jakarta KPU examination, the 19 ballots were voted by the head of the KPPS and the order at Polling Station 028 Pinang Ranti.

Luckily, the East Jakarta Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) TPS supervisor at 028 found out about the incident, and rushed to prevent 18 ballots from being cast into ballot boxes.

East Jakarta KPU commissioner Rio Verieza admitted that there had been a serious violation in the implementation of the vote at Polling Station 028, Pinang Ranti Village, Makasar District, East Jakarta.

"Two officers who committed violations and cheated have been sanctioned," he said when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, November 28.

The fraud was also recorded by amateur videos and circulated widely on social media. The incident caused a commotion in the community.

In the amateur video footage, it appears that a number of people show that ballots from the East Jakarta KPU have been cast for the Candidate Pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta Number 3 Pramono Anung-Rano Karno.

"The video is true, related to the incident it is true. Yesterday, last night, we checked it. One head of the KPPS plus a order officer at Pols 028, Pinang Ranti Village, Makasar District, East Jakarta. After we checked, the person concerned admitted," he said.

Rio explained, from the confession of the KPPS chairman and TPS order officers, they did it spontaneously. The goal is that the voter participation report at the TPS is high.

He denied that there were political reasons such as special directions from certain parties behind the actions of violating the rules taken by the two officers.

"As far as we checked last night, there was no political element. So, if, for example, the Chairman of the KPPS, he reasoned that they were just spontaneous, just spontaneous. Ordering the order officers to be absent means that participation (elections) increases. That's what is not true. After all, it cannot be justified," he said.

Rio stated that the action had been categorized as a violation of the severe code of ethics. Therefore, the East Jakarta KPU took firm steps by dismissing the two officers.

Not only that, they certainly can no longer register as election organizers.

"So, we have terminated as of today. The chairman of the KPPS is also a order officer, because he has committed a violation of the code of ethics which we think is difficult. Then the second is, we believe it is not included in the PSU (Re-voting) criteria," he said.

Furthermore, Rio admitted that the violation had an effect on several things. First, the criminal effect that has been submitted to the Integrated Law Enforcement Center (Gakkumdu), the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), the Police, and the Prosecutor's Office for handling.

The East Jakarta KPU ensures that they respect the ongoing process at the Gakkumdu Center.

Second, the effect of the code of ethics. Rio said, starting today the two officers who violated and committed fraudulent acts by voting for pair number 3 had been dismissed.

"Third, the effect of administrative disputes. He stated that all parties agreed to resolve it in the vote recapitulation process at the sub-district level," he said.

Rio further explained that the other fourth effect was the PSU effect. So far, he continued, the East Jakarta KPU believes that violations and fraud are not included in the criteria for PSU to be carried out. However, they will wait for official recommendations from Bawaslu.

"There is no official recommendation from Bawaslu yet. For the time being, we have studied and we believe that the incident is not included in the PSU category," he said.
