COVID-19 Update As Of April 12: 4,829 New Cases, Accumulated 1,571,824 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) released additional positive cases of the latest COVID-19 as of today. A total of 46,331 specimens were examined with 4,829 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was found in Indonesia reached 1,571,824 people and active cases dropped to 109,372 cases," as quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Monday, April 12.

Cases recovered today increased by 5,289 cases, bringing the total to 1,419,796 people cured. Then, the number of positive confirmation cases that died increased by 126 people and a total of 42,656 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 1,470 cases and a total of 260,048 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 737 new cases with a total of 174,457 cases. DKI Jakarta has 692 new cases and a total of 393,290 cases. Then, Banten has 331 new cases and a total of 45,333 cases.

The province with the most cured cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,357 cured cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 1,262 cases cured, West Java with an increase of 352 cases recovered, and IN Yogyakarta with an increase of 265 cases recovered.

Three provinces reported no new cases today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were West Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, and North Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 13,412,303.

"The positive result per number of specimens examined or positivity rate this week was 16.49 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspek cases, it is recorded at 59,915 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 10,261,791 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 5,310,739 second dose vaccinations. Meanwhile, the total vaccination target of phase 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
