Even Though He Voted in Bogor, Suswono Was a Jakarta Resident for Decades

JAKARTA - Jakarta Deputy Governor Candidate Number 1 Suswono believes that there is nothing to question if he uses his right to vote in Bogor, West Java. Although he is now a Bogor resident, Suswono admitted that he had been a Jakarta resident for decades.

Suswono said this in response to the statement of Deputy Governor Candidate Number 3 Rano Karno who felt sorry for Candidate Pair Number 01 who had to vote outside Jakarta.

"It just so happens that my KTP status is in Bogor, so I have the right to vote in Bogor," said Suswono in Bogor, West Java, Wednesday, November 27.

"Meanwhile, if nominated, all Indonesian citizens everywhere are given the right to be nominated," he continued.

Suswono then said that he had also lived in Jakarta for decades. Starting from when he first got married, until he became a member of the DPR and Minister of Agriculture during the era of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

"I actually moved around a lot, when I got married I was a Jakarta resident. Then I moved to Bogor, because I became a lecturer in Bogor. Then when I became a member of the council and a minister, for 10 years I practically became a Jakarta resident," he said.

Because he was no longer serving as a minister, Suswono chose to settle in Bogor. "Although during the day I am a Jakarta resident, because I practically go to Jakarta every day," he added.

Suswono also submitted the results of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada to God and the residents who chose RIDO. According to him, whoever will lead Jakarta in the future is the best for the residents of Jakarta.

"We have submitted the best from Allah. Whatever it is, the final decision is the best for sure, I believe that," he said.
