Megawati Reminded That There Should Be No Force To Prevent The People From Choosing In The 2024 Pilkada

Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri reminded the public to exercise their right to vote independently and freely in the 2024 Pilkada. No party should hinder the freedom of every citizen to make their choice.

This was conveyed by Megawati in a video uploaded to the Instagram and PDI-P's YouTube social media accounts. Initially, the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia said that regional head elections on Wednesday, November 27 were the best candidate candidates.

"The Indonesian people will carry out their duties and responsibilities through regional elections simultaneously," Megawati said in a video quoted on Wednesday, November 27.

"Pilkada must be a momentum to choose the best leader, capable leader, leader with a good track record of achievements, and be responsible for the nation's future," he continued.

Megawati said that every citizen has the right to vote or be elected in the constitution. No party should intervene in the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada.

"Using the right to vote in a way and with a sense of independence, freedom, and sovereignty. There should be no power that can hinder people's freedom to vote," he said.

Still in the same video, Megawati asks state officials to be neutral law enforcers. They should not lean towards one of the candidates in the 2024 Pilkada.

Just like other parties, Megawati said, candidates from her party have the right to be elected by the people. "To all state apparatus, regional head officials, TNI, Polri, state civil servants, sub-district heads to village heads, I call on them as people who have the same rights, to be neutral and must not take sides," she concluded.
