The Department of Commercial Crime Investigation (CCID) arrested 13 people including civil servants (PNS) of the Malaysian land office who were arrested in connection with the land mafia case.

Director of the Department of Commercial Crime Investigation (CCID) Bukit Aman, Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said 13 syndicates of transfer of land rights arrested were seven men and six women, aged between 26 and 59 years.

"Assistant district officials said there were several diversions of suspicious land rights that occurred illegally, as well as the disappearance of several documents involving a transfer of land rights form from the safe," he said at a press conference at the CCID Bukit Aman office, Malaysia, Tuesday, November 26, quoted from Bernama.

Ramli said that his party found the fact that the land mafias, including land office employees, had illegally transferred land rights. They are strongly suspected of eradicating important transfer records in the land system.

He also emphasized that the suspects detained included a staff of the district and land offices. However, Ramli was reluctant to explain further the identity and details of the civil servant position because the case was still under investigation.
