Chile's President Denies Having Sexual Harassment In 2013, The Prosecutor's Office CONTINUES To Investigate

JAKARTA - Chilean President Gabriel Boric has denied allegations of sexually harassing a woman more than a decade ago or 2013.

"President... refused and categorically denied the complaint," lawyer Jonatan Valenzuela said in a statement, quoted from AFP, Tuesday, November 26.

The charges were reported to the Magallanes Prosecutor's Office, where Boric originated, on September 6, 2024.

To the Attorney General's Office, Cristian Crisosto confirmed the alleged sexual harassment case with the reported Boric that was submitted by the reporter to his party.

"There are criminal cases related to the facts listed," he said.

Crisosto said the prosecutor's office had formed a special team to investigate the complaint.

According to Jonathan, the report was submitted by a woman who had sent 25 emails to Boric during the time it was suspected that the incident had occurred.

Jonathan said the woman's email also contained explicit images and was not based on requests and was not consensual.

More than 10 years later, continued Jonathan, the woman reported baselessly to Chile's current President Gabriel Boric.

Boric, now 38, allegedly the incident when the 27-year-old president was completing his law degree.

"My client has never had an emotional relationship or friendship with him and they haven't communicated since July 2014," said Jonathan.
