From Sharp Criticism To Full Support: Alfred Pabika And Millennial Youth Timika Give Support To JOEL Couples

JAKARTA - Millennial Youth Timika expressed full support for the pair of candidates for regent and deputy regent of Mimika number 1, Johannes Rettob-Emanuel Kemong (JOEL).

This statement was made by the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Community and Student Alliance, Alfred Pabika, at a press conference at the Cenderawasih 66 Timika Hotel.

This support came to the public's attention because previously Alfred Pabika and his colleagues were known to be the drivers of demonstrations aimed at prosecuting Johannes Rettob for alleged corruption in the purchase of planes. However, after following the legal process that declared Johannes Rettob innocent, Alfred has now expressed full support for the JOEL pair.

"We saw that during campaigns, debates, and political promises, the JOEL pair really sided with the community. Therefore, we decided to support Johannes Rettob and Emanuel Kemong," said Alfred Pabika.

Alfred assessed that the JOEL pair had a clear track record as experienced bureaucrats, with realistic political promises, leadership transparency, and attention to local wisdom and global issues. He also gave special appreciation to Emanuel Kemong, who he assessed had given birth to an outstanding Papuan generation in the world of education.

They understand the needs of the Mimika community, including infrastructure development, local economic empowerment, and community welfare. We believe they are the right leaders for the next five years, "added Alfred.

Alfred also responded to the legal issue that had overshadowed Johannes Rettob. "I, who had been pushing for the Johannes Rettob corruption case, until finally the Supreme Court's decision declared him innocent. After getting to know him further, I saw that he was a bureaucrat who really wanted to build Mimika," he said.

He invited all Mimika people to exercise their right to vote with conscience and support the peaceful Pilkada, free from social conflicts such as hate speech and hoax news.

The Mimika APBD budget which reaches Rp6.3 trillion must be managed by experienced leaders. Our voice is very important for Mimika's future in the next five years," he concluded.
