KPK Leader Calls Johanis Tanak Has No Objection To OTT Bengkulu Provincial Government Officials

Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata said that the appointment of Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Merysah as a suspect after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) was also approved by his colleague, Johanis Tanak. This approval is given in the case title process or exposure.

Johanis Tanak was in the spotlight because he admitted that he did not agree with the implementation of the OTT when taking the fit and proper test as a candidate for leadership (capim) of the KPK. He even said he would delete the activity and receive a speech from members of Commission III of the DPR RI.

"This case was exposed this afternoon after the alleged perpetrators came (from Bengkulu, ed) to the KPK," Alexander said, starting his statement in a press conference broadcast on the KPK YouTube, Sunday night, November 24.

Alexander said Johanis Tanak was present at the leadership expose forum with the Temporary Chairperson of the KPK, Nawawi Pomolango. "And based on the adequacy of evidence, we agreed to raise this case to the investigation stage," he said.

"So Pak Tanak also agrees. This means that he has no objection to this kind of activity. So don't ask again if there is Mr. Tanak," continued the former Adhoc judge.

As for this hand arrest operation, the KPK named three suspects from the silent operation which was carried out on Saturday, November 23. Apart from Rohidin, they are the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bengkulu Province Isnan Fajri and Evrianshah alias Anca who are the Adc Governor of Bengkulu.

Investigators found Rp7 billion in cash denominations in rupiah, US dollars, and Singapore dollars. Furthermore, the suspects will be detained for the next 20 days and will be extended according to the rules and needs of investigators.

The three suspects are suspected of violating Article 12 letter e and Article 12B in Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended in Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
