WRC Survey In Kukar Pilkada: Dendi-Alif Electability 62.7 Percent, Edi-Rendi 30.8 Percent, And Awang-Ahmad 2.3 Percent

JAKARTA - The Color Research Center (WRC) survey institute released the results of a survey related to the vote map of the people of Kutai Kartanegara (Kukar) on three pairs of candidates for Regent and Deputy Regent of Kukar ahead of the 2024 Pilkada two weeks.

The results in the simulation of closed questions show that the electability of the Dendi Suryadi-Alif Turiadi pair is in the top position with a figure of 61.7 percent.

Followed by the incumbent candidate pair Edi Damansyah-Rendi Solihin with 26.2 percent, and the candidate pair from the independent path Awang Yacoub Luthman-Ahmad Zais with 2.2 percent. As well as respondents who did not choose reached 9.9 percent.

"Likewise, 1,480 respondents were tested to choose the candidate pair for Regent and Deputy Regent of Kutai Kartanegara by voting with ballots. As a result, pair number 03, Dendi Suryadi-Alif Turiadi won 62.7 percent of the votes," said the Executive Director of the Color Research Center (WRC), Frika Faudillah in his presentation, Thursday, November 21.

"Meanwhile, the candidate pair number 01, Edi Damansyah-Rendi Solihin received 30.8 percent of the votes, pair number 02, Awang Yacoub Luthman-Ahmad Zais received 2.3 percent of the votes, and ballot cards were not selected or voted 4.2 percent," he continued.

WRC also conducted a survey of options in the top of mind where respodents were given the freedom to choose the name chosen as Regent and Deputy Regent of Kutai Kartanegara if the regional elections were held today. As a result, the name of the Dendi Suryadi-Alif Turiadi pair is called and chosen as much as 57.4 percent.

"Then the name Edi Damansyah-Rendi Solihin was mentioned and chosen as much as 21.4 percent, and the name of the pair Awang Yacoub Luthman-Ahmad Zais was mentioned and chosen as much as 1.1 percent. Meanwhile, as many as 20.1 percent did not choose and chose other names," said Frika.

Frika said the results of this survey also capture the perception of the Kutai Kartanegara community regarding the performance of Edi Damansyah-Rendi Solihin during the two periods leading Kutai Kartanegara Regency. As a result, 72.3 Kukar residents did not want Edi Damansyah to lead again on the grounds that he had served as regent for two terms.

In addition, continued Frika, as many as 70.6 percent of the public assessed that during the last 5 years the administration of Edi Damansyah-Rendi Solihin failed to provide clean water and electrical energy services in remote areas.

Then, 71.4 percent stated that there were no quality health services available and no optimal health center services and support for health infrastructure facilities in Kutai Kartanegara in the last 5 years.

Meanwhile, 65.7 percent of respondents considered that for 5 years Edi Damansyah-Rendi Solihin led the incumbent to fail to provide availability of High School (SMA) or Sederat in Kukar, which caused 6,000 junior high school graduates not to be accommodated at the high school or equivalent level.

"So, it burdens the cost for parents of parents to include their children in High School (SMA) or Sederajat outside Kutai Kartanegara. As a result, it also makes thousands of junior high school graduates in Kutai Kartanegara not proceed to High School (SMA) or equivalent," he said.

This survey was conducted in the period 9-18 November 2024 involving 1,480 Kukar residents registered in the final voter list in the 2024 Pilkada.

This survey method uses the Multistage Random sampling method which is based on a fixed voter population for the 2024 Kutai Kartanegara Pilkada as many as 552,469 registered voters, with 287,725 male voters and 264,744 female voters.

The results of this survey have a Margin of Error of - / + 2.54 percent at a 95 percent Trust level.
