Police Arrest Suspect Of Disposal Of Woman's Body In Karo Who Was Paid IDR 60 Million

The North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) arrested a man with the initials R alias Bagong, a resident of Serdang Bedagai Regency who was suspected of being involved in the disposal of a woman's body with the initials MP (26) in Doulu Village, Berastagi District, Karo Regency.

"Based on the investigation carried out, perpetrator R admitted that he had thrown the victim's body into Karo Regency," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 21.

Hadi said the suspect received a salary of Rp. 60 million from suspect J, who had previously been arrested to dispose of the victim's body by driving the car to Karo Regency.

The suspect R was arrested while hiding in Kreung Seumayam District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, on Friday (8/11).

Personnel confiscated the remaining wages, cell phones and cars used to dispose of the victim's body as evidence.

"In this case, the main suspect is charged with Article 351 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code which causes death, with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison. And the suspect who helped was charged with Article 221 in conjunction with 55 of the Criminal Code," said Hadi.

Previously, the Director of General Criminal Investigation, Kombes Sumaryono, said that in handling this case, the North Sumatra Police named five suspects, each with different roles.

He mentioned JFJ alias Jo as the main actor, another suspect who played a significant role was S, who helped lift and dispose of the victim's body, and EI helped find the executor to dispose of the body.

"As well as two members of the police, JHS and HP, who knew about the incident, but did not report it, were also involved as witnesses who were absent from reporting," he said.

Sumaryono said the incident took place at the residence of suspect Jo on Jalan Merdeka, Pematang Siantar on October 20, 2024.

"The temporary motive we are investigating is the existence of a personal relationship between the suspect Jo and the victim that triggered this persecution," he said.
