Spread In The Country And Private, The Ministry Of Education And Technology Notes 960,000 Students Involved In Online Gambling

JAKARTA - Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro stated that 960,000 students and students were involved in online gambling activities.

"Regarding online gambling, the group of students involved to date is a total of 960,000 (people)," said Minister of Education and Technology Satryo at a press conference in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Thursday, November 21.

Minister Satryo said most of these figures were students spread across public and private universities in Indonesia.

Overcoming this, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) is currently preparing a special service for online gambling complaints at universities in Indonesia.

"We are now preparing the complaint. State and Private Universities must have complaints for those trapped in online gambling," he said.

In addition, Minister Satryo also gave special directions to the leaders of all State and Private Universities in Indonesia in an effort to prevent online gambling.

"The Ministry of Education and Technology has ordered every leader of State and Private Universities to try to prevent the involvement of lecturers, students, and students so as not to be involved in online gambling," he said.

This is not only done by universities within the Ministry of Education and Technology, but also universities within the Indonesian Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), as stated by the Indonesian Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar on the same occasion.

Minister of Religion Nasaruddin revealed that his party had also gathered rectors from various religious higher education units of the State Islamic High School (STAIN), State Islamic Institute (IAIN) and State Islamic University (UIN).

"We have gathered all rectors within the Ministry of Religion, (both) IAIN, UIN, STAIN, and all Regional Offices of the Ministry of Religion in one working meeting," said Nasaruddin Umar.
