MARTAPURA - Members of Densus 88 Police Headquarters arrested two suspected terrorists in East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra with the initials MD (51) and MA (49).

East OKU Police Chief AKBP Kevin Leleury said the two suspects were arrested in his jurisdiction on Tuesday, November 19.

The suspect MD, a resident of Triyoso Village, was arrested at around 05.30 WIB, while the MA, a resident of Sidorahayu Village, Belitang District, East OKU Regency, was arrested at 07.30 WIB after dropping his son to school.

The two suspects are terrorists of the Islamic State of Indonesia (NII) in East OKU Regency, South Sumatra.

"They have long been monitored by Densus 88 until they were arrested without a fight," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 20.

After making the arrest, members of Densus 88 immediately conducted a search at the homes of the two terrorists.

The results of the search found a number of evidences in the form of books about jihad, documents, clothes and cell phones.

"Setelah ditangkap kedua tersangka dan barang bukti langsung dibawa ke Palembang untuk diinterogasi lebih lanjut," tegasnya.

According to the Police Chief, the arrests of the suspected terrorists were carried out by Densus 88 simultaneously in various regions in Indonesia, one of which was Bengkulu and Jambi.
