Invite The Community To Guard The 2024 Pilkada In Peace, Vice President Gibran: Different Choices Are Natural

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka reminded the public to respect each other's differences of opinion and politics in order to maintain the diversity that exists in the democratic world.

This statement was conveyed by Vice President Gibran while giving a briefing at the Alert for Monitoring of the Stages of Peace, Voting, and Vote Calculation of the 2024 Pilkada in the southern area of the Monas Area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, November 20.

"Different choices are natural, different opinions are common. That is precisely what colores our democracy," said Vice President Gibran in front of the apple participants.

Vice President Gibran emphasized that differences in political views are part of diversity that should enrich the democratic system in Indonesia. Vice President Gibran also called for the importance of maintaining peace and a conducive atmosphere during the 2024 Pilkada period.

He invited the public to maintain a safe and peaceful situation in facing this democratic process.

"I would like to invite all of you to continue to maintain this conducive situation," added Vice President Gibran.

In the apple, Vice President Gibran was accompanied by the Head of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja and the Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) Mochammad Afifuddin and his staff.

The 2024 Pilkada will be held on November 27, 2024. Before voting day, the calm period of the 2024 Pilkada will begin on November 24, 2024 and last for three days.

It is known that the 2024 Pilkada will be attended by 37 provinces, 415 regencies, and 93 cities. A total of 1,557 pairs of candidates, consisting of 1,169 pairs of candidates for regent and deputy regent as well as 285 pairs of candidates for mayor and deputy mayor competed in the 2024 Pilkada.
