Inaugurating The New Building, IPEKA Palembang Prioritizes Character Technology And Education

JAKARTA IPEKA Palembang Christian School inaugurated a new building on Monday, November 18, 2024, to improve teaching and learning facilities by providing educational facilities that are in accordance with the times. Located on Jalan Resident Abdul Rozak, Palembang city, this five-story building is equipped with various modern facilities that support quality education needs.

The construction of this new building began with worship and prayer together on November 1, 2023, which was followed by a topping off procession on June 19, 2024.

The inauguration of this new building was marked by a band-sharing procession carried out by the General Chairperson of the GKY Synod, Pdt. Yohanes Adrie Hartopo, Chairman of the IPEKA Foundation, Erwin Tenggono, Head of the Management Division of the GKY Synod Foundation, Betus Husin, Shepherd of GKY Palembang, Pdt. Surja Sudipan, and Chairman of the GKY Palembang Assembly, Pnt. Nanik Listijani Sigit.

Head of School IPEKA Palembang, Ling Er revealed that the IPEKA Palembang Christian School received a positive response from the community in various new student admission activities. "Parents are now increasingly aware of the importance of education which is not only focused on academics, but also on character formation and spiritual development," said Ling Er.

In line with the need for quality education, the IPEKA Palembang Christian School is committed to providing a learning environment that supports academic and spiritual development. Through this additional new facility, the Palembang IPEKA Christian School seeks to create a place that can help students reach their maximum potential.

The use of this new building is devoted to teaching and learning activities at kindergarten and SD IPEKA Palembang levels. Classrooms in the new building are made wider so that children feel comfortable and the teaching and learning process can run conducively. The facilities available include Nursery Room, Common Place, Indoor Gym, Indoor Playground, and Reading Space. Meanwhile, there are also computer laboratories, main halls, to badminton fields, which can be used by all students at various levels.

"We hope that, through these new buildings and facilities, IPEKA Palembang can provide a better learning experience. We want to provide a place for students to grow up to be intelligent individuals, be ready to face challenges in the future, and bring positive changes in society. More than that, we hope that IPEKA Palembang can continue to be a blessing for communities in the city of Palembang," Ling Er said in a media statement, Tuesday, November 19.

As an international standard school, the IPEKA Palembang Christian School uses a curriculum developed by IPEKA, namely IPEKA Christian Education (ICE) Curriculum. This curriculum integrates faith and science, namely, a Bible view with the Pearson Edexcel curriculum and the National Curriculum.

The curriculum at the IPEKA Palembang Christian School is also enriched with five pillars of excellence called iLEAD, namely Internal Growth, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Acquisition of Skills, and Digital Literacy & Numeracy. Through these pillars, students are prepared to become individuals who are not only superior in academics but also have leadership skills, entrepreneurship, digital literacy and numeracy.
