Promise To Fulfill Clean Water Pipanization Coverage In Jakarta Before 2030, Pramono: It's Not Too Difficult

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Candidate number 3 Pramono Anung promised to complete pipeline connection or clean water pipeline to serve Jakarta residents before 2030 if they won the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

The DKI Provincial Government has indeed set a target to meet the coverage of piped water services of up to 100 percent by 2030. Until now, the PAM Jaya BUMD clean water service still reaches 65 percent in Jakarta.

"The regional regulation states 2030, but because the next government (Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta) will end in 2029, we are pursuing 2029," Pramono said in Cilandak, South Jakarta, Monday, November 18.

Pramono said he could achieve this target. This is because currently clean water services in Jakarta have been fully operated by regional companies and there is no more control from the private sector.

That way, according to him, the realization of 100 percent of Jakarta residents can access piped clean water by 2030 can be realized as mandated in Governor Regulation Number 7 of 2022.

"Jakarta for pipelines is not too difficult because many pipeline factory industries are able to do that," Pramono explained.

"The important thing is open, transparent, everyone has the ability to check whether the budget is correct or not," he added.

The DKI Provincial Government is targeting piped clean water services of up to 2 million customers by 2030. As of June 2024, PAM Jaya is recorded to have served around 941,341 customers in Jakarta.
