Garut Police Shoot Dead Fire Armed Robbers

Garut Resort Police shot dead a robber or theft with violence armed with long-barreled firearms and pistols for resisting dangerous officers when they were about to be arrested in Garut Regency, West Java.

"One of the two suspects was declared dead after receiving treatment at the hospital, one is still in the process of being investigated for us to develop," said Garut Police Chief AKBP Mochamad Fajar Gemilang as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 18.

The robbery case was revealed after CCTV footage of the activities of the two suspects, the initials CS (40) and AR (23), both residents of Garut Regency, carried out a robbery in the Cikembulan area, Kadungora District, Garut.

From the investigation, the police found the two people in the Garut Kota area who were suspected of looking for the victim's target using a motorbike while carrying a firearm.

The two suspects who were carrying long-barreled firearms and the gun fought back until finally the officers who were about to arrest him took firm action by shooting one suspect, namely CS.

"In its implementation, the person concerned was because he was carrying a firearm, there were two firearms that we secured in resistance, then from our officers we took measured action against one of the perpetrators," he said.

The suspect who was shot was immediately taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but eventually died of gunshot wounds.

Furthermore, another suspect was taken to the Garut Police Headquarters to undergo the legal process.

"We will carry out further investigations of the perpetrators who are still alive, wherever they carry out activities or maybe there are other perpetrators," he said.

During the arrest, the police secured evidence of the motorbike vehicle used by the perpetrator to commit the crime.

In addition, the police also confiscated evidence of long-barreled firearms, homemade pistols along with bullets and sharp weapons in the form of samurai which are currently being traced from where to get the homemade firearm.

"We are still developing the origin of the acquisition of weapons and ammunition," he said.

The results of the interim examination, the suspect who died or was still alive was a recidivist in a case of violent theft committed in a number of areas in Garut and out of town.

The suspect was charged with Article 365 concerning theft with violence or threats of violence against the victim with the threat of imprisonment for nine years in prison.
