JAKARTA - A number of RTs and roads in North Jakarta were flooded this afternoon. Since Friday, November 15 last week, the coastal area of Jakarta has experienced tidal tidal waves until now.

"The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded currently inundation in 1 RT or 0.03 percent of the 30,772 RT and 4 inundated roads in the DKI Jakarta area," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji to reporters, Monday, November 18.

RT Yanh is still submerged by tidal flooding in Pluit Village with a water level of 20 cm. Meanwhile, the road is flooded on Jalan RE Martadinata, Papanggo Village with a height of 20 cm.

Other tidally submerged roads are on Hiu Street, Muara Baru Port with a height of 40 cm, Cumi Street, Muara Baru Port with a height of 25 cm, and Muara Baru Port Tuna Street with a height of 30 cm.

In the early warning of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, the potential for tidal flooding in Jakarta occurred on November 14 - November 21, 2024 due to the phenomenon of maximum tides along with the new moon phase which has the potential to increase the maximum tide height.

Today, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi inspected the tidal flood. During the review, Teguh distributed basic materials for residents affected by tidal flooding. The tidal flood has occurred since last Friday at 09.00 WIB and receded at 12.00 WIB, but again inundated the area the following day at the same time.

"The information is that the surrounding coastal embankment has not been completed and what the solution is estimated. Later, the Regional Secretary will take solutions that will allow the Provincial Government to take regarding the tidal flood in Muara Angke," explained Teguh.
